Discover North & West Vancouver
The City of North Vancouver is a waterfront municipality on the north shore of Burrard Inlet, directly across from Vancouver. It is the smallest of the three North Shore municipalities, and the most urbanized as well. Although it has significant industry of its own, including shipping, chemical production, and film production, the city is usually considered to be a suburb of Vancouver. While the City is a relatively densely populated area with plenty of condos, the District extends into the North Shore Mountains, offering plenty of wild, open spaces and some of the best outdoor recreation in the Lower Mainland. In fact, North Vancouver is said to have the region’s happiest residents.
A member municipality of Metro Vancouver, West Vancouver is northwest of the city of Vancouver on the northern side of English Bay and the southeast shore of Howe Sound, and is adjoined by the District of North Vancouver to its east. Together with the District of North Vancouver and City of North Vancouver, it is part of a local regional grouping referred to as the North Shore municipalities, or simply "The North Shore". Home to over 13 incredible trail systems, West Vancouver can accommodate leisurely strolls and strenuous hikes to satisfy all types of outdoor recreation. West Vancouver offers a plethora of opportunities to explore and engage in community culture through many established cultural institutions, festivals, events and heritage sites. Source: Wikipedia
